Three changes you should make to your print sales right now
Most people could achieve more sales with some simple tweaks
Oddly enough I don’t see many people carrying out what I’m about to share with you. (If you do carry out any of these activities, congratulations!) Yet, these are all simple things to do. And they are time efficient.
Let’s go through them and you can see if you practise any of them already.
Mindless Selling
I hesitate to use this name, but I called it this for a reason. I believe that everyone should think and care about what they do. This name could imply the opposite. However, what I mean by it is that we should all have sales activities that we can carry out semi-automatically.
Most people have less and less dedicated sales time. Instead, they find themselves with just a few minutes to spare. At this point preparing to carry out sales activity can seem daunting and pointless. That’s why it is very useful to have some regular activities that you can carry out quickly and without having to prepare for. One example of this is contacting customers who have not placed business with you for a while. You may be surprised at how quickly this can gain results.
Selling results
I have always preached being in your customers’ shoes. They do not need print. They need to grow their business. How have you helped people like them achieve this? If you can explain this quickly and simply you have a much better chance of making sales.
Reviewing and challenging
What went well over the last month? What could be improved? What small productivity goals will you set yourself for the following month?
Spending 5-10 minutes answering these questions in writing at the end of every month can make a big difference to your productivity. It stops you doing the same old things, even though they are unproductive, because they are in your comfort zone. I have seen a big difference since I took this practise up a year ago.
